footprints in our lives
We had to make the sad decision on Dec. 2 to relieve our wonderful cat Stella of the suffering she has endured during the last days.
While sadness covers our heart, we remember all the wonderful times we had together with Stella in the 3,5 years together.
Small in size, but big in character she left a mark in our lives which will always be alive.
We would have loved to spend many more years with her, but sometimes we are only allowed to share for a short time, nevertheless much more intense.
We love and miss you, Stella!
Your faithful servants,
Mr. and Mrs. Nice
The cat is back
Mrs. Nice been kind of lazy writing my stories last year as you can see. So – I have got on her case about that and she rolled her eyes at me. I know that look, let me tell ya’!
Here I am – I WON
Here is a quick run down on last year!
During the summer my job was to be part of the garden design. I do this job really well and chase every other cat out of my garden.

Looking good, aren't I?
Pretty soon the Misses won’t have to buy flowers anymore. I’m the most beautiful flower in her garden anyhow.
It got bit cooler during autumn, so you could find me upstairs with my bud Shrek on the couch.

Christmas came along and that always means that I don’t get to go outdoors a lot anymore. It is too cold and they are afraid that I may fall into the neighbor’s pond when I climb around the neighbor’s patio. I discovered television, people! What a deal!

Nature shows are cool!

Check this out!

A little culture never hurts, does it?
These past weeks we’ve had lots of snow. I am SICK of it, because my paws freeze. They haven’t bought any shoes for me yet. YET – I say!

I had to try it though… I DO NOT LIKE SNOW

When the sun is out it isn’t too bad and the patio stones are warmed by the sun.

During the winter though I spend most of my time begging to go outdoors. Just what’s cat to do?

Ok, my cat sisters and brothers … I see ya’ around. Hopefully, it will not take Mrs. Nice another year before she types my stories.
Yours truly,
Stella-The-Cat
Been a while .. and now it is winter time
Dear friends,
I have been neglecting you so much. Now it is winter and just a few days before Christmas. I will take the opportunity of our first snow of the season to drop a few lines.
Summer was not so great. It all started nicely in the spring, but summer time was not like last year where we were spoiled with lots of sun.
I have enjoyed our garden anyhow. I just picked the sunny days to be outdoors.
Winter is a different story. I don’t like to have wet paws. I just run outdoors, looking for my catwalk which is snowed in as well and find my way back home soon.
Christmas is right before us. I am wishing all of you a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and that all your wishes may come true. Most of all I hope that health and happiness will be your companions throughout the year.

Happy Birthday to me!
Since nobody knows my birthday, Mr. and Mrs. Nice said we will celebrate May 19th – which is the day I arrived at their house – as my official birthday.
They put a bow on me and of course a picture was taken.
One more tooth to go
Stella is well again
After taking my antibiotics all week I am feeling much better. Food tastes great again, even though I will not touch my old cat food. When I smell it I am reminded of the pain I had last week. Mrs. Nice said I need to have my teeth cleaned, but she will wait until she off work since I have to have anesthesia.
Mrs. Nice was gone on a business trip all week. I was so happy when she returned on Friday. Saturday she spent all day in the garden and I was right along with her. Today was especially nice and she really worked hard. Of course I assisted her and observed the garden to ensure no other cat – especially Tom – would walk through the flower beds. (That’s my job!)
I took a nap in between and when I woke up she was still out there working. Mr. Nice helped her with the finishing touches and then she came in.
Poor Stella
Mrs. Nice was gone this week from Monday through Wednesday. Monday I started not eating well. Mr. Nice thought that I may be missing Mrs. Nice. Thursday they noticed that I wanted to eat but apparently couldn’t. Both of them were getting really worried. Mrs. Nice pureed my food and I licked my bowl clean. It really felt great to have a full stomach.
Today though they decided to take me to the vet after work. I knew it would be a trip to the vet when Mr. Nice brought the carrier upstairs from the basement. When we got there, the vet took one look into my mouth and saw that one of my teeth was broken. He also said that the rest of my teeth were not in the best shape and I needed a cleaning once I was well again.
Mr. Nice was holding me during the visit. The vet opened my mouth and scared me half to death when he pulled my broken tooth. I really tried to scratch and bite him, but I couldn’t get him. Then he gave me a shot with something he called antibiotics. He even gave more medication to Mr. and Mrs. Nice to give me at home for the coming week.
I was in my carrier so fast when it was time to get out of the vet’s office, you would not believe it.
Since I am home I drank a little of my milk that Mr. Nice picked up at the store for me, but I still can’t eat. My mouth still hurts. The vet said I should feel better tomorrow. Let’s hope so, because right now I only want to sleep on the couch.
